The Mount'n Mover does not just mount something in a static position. It is able to be repositioned, often by end users. It is far more independently accessible and repositionable by individuals with physical limitations than any other mount. Arguments to be made for medical necessity might include the following features and functions:
Benefits of repositioning (independent or assisted)
- to better or more independently access things attached to a wheelchair
- to move it out of the way to access something else or to get close to a table, counter, toilet, sink, or workstation
- able to move it out of the way for transfers (independent or assisted)
- ablility to unlock and rotate a device/tray, and/or adjust the tilt angle improves a person’s visual access, making it possible to see more clearly, interact, or more safely or easily achieve other goals (ie, driving a wheelchair, talking, watching the television, use the computer)
- reposition a device to reduce glare on the communication device or laptop computer screen
- angle may be adjusted as a person’s positioning changes in the course of a day, making it possible to more easily access communication devices or other controls
- Able to reposition it in close to torso or above lap to get into tighter spaces, such as elevators or through a doorway
