About the Wheelchair T-Nut (WC-TN)

The wheelchair T-Nut is used to attach to Pride Mobility (Quantum and Jazzy) and Invacare chairs with slide tracks.
You can attach Wheelchair Brackets directly to the WC-TN, or you can use other accessories for more positioning options.

  • Hardware A: Two 1/4"-28 x 7/8" Bolts and Two 1/32" thick washers for attaching BlueSky Designs Adjustable Wheelchair Bracket (WB), or other adapter plates to the T-Nut (WC-TN)
  • Hardware B: Two 1/4"-28 x 5/8" Bolts for attaching a solid Wheelchair Bracket (WB2) to the WC-TN

Tools needed:
  • 3/16" Hex Key (provided with every Mount'n Mover)
Attachment Instructions
  1. Remove the cap/cover for the seat rails to gain access to the slidetrack.
  2. Insert the T-Nut into the slidetrack, then slide it to the desired position within the track. You may have to move existing hardware around for best placement.
  3. Align the attaching component with the holes of the T-Nut. This component should be oriented to best suit the users needs.
  4. If the attached component is the WB2 (Solid), then use Hardware B. Otherwise, use Hardware A.

Example 1: Mounting to a Slidetrack frame that typically is at an angle.

side view: mounted slidetrack using a TN and WB(adjustable)   side view: mounted slidetrack using a TN and WB(adjustable)

This primary operating position for this client was tilted at a slight angle.
To maintain a vertical post, the WB (adjustable) was used.

Components used: Wheelchair T-Nut (WC-TN), Adjustable Wheelchair Bracket WB(adjustable)

Example 2: Mounting to a Slidetrack frame that typically is at an angle.

side view: mounted slidetrack using a TN and WB(adjustable)   side view: mounted slidetrack using a TN and WB(adjustable)

Mounted similarly to the set-up shown in Example 1, this client had an additional ECU display that was not obstructed.
In addition to this wheelchair, the client had a manual tilt-in-space wheelchair that was also mounted to.
This enabled him to have full access to his device in either chair, without changing any settings.

Components used: Wheelchair T-Nut (WC-TN), Adjustable Wheelchair Bracket WB(adjustable)

Example 3: Mounting to a Slidetrack frame where the push-up post is obstructing ideal mount placement.

side view: mounted slidetrack using a TN, WCLAE and WB(adjustable)   front view: mounted slidetrack using a TN, WCLAE and WB(adjustable)   top view: mounted slidetrack using a TN, WCLAE and WB(adjustable)

Refer to the center picture, where the post would sit outside of the armrests but still within the wheelchair footprint.
This scenario required the use of a Wheelchair L-Angled Extension Plate (WC-LAE) to offset the post mounting.
A WB(adjustable) was used, but a simpler set-up could be accomplished using the the WB2(Solid).

Components used: Wheelchair T-Nut (WC-TN), Wheelchair L-Angled Extension Plate (WCLAE), and the Adjustable Wheelchair Bracket WB(adjustable)

Example 4: Mounting to a Slidetrack frame where a large laptray is obstructing ideal mount placement.

side view: mounted slidetrack using a TN, AP, Two WCLAE(s) and WB2(Solid)   front view: mounted slidetrack using a TN, AP, Two WCLAE(s) and WB2(Solid)

This client had a large laptray that they wanted to dodge, which requirements an extra offset
Using two WC-LAE components and a WC-AP, the mount was offset roughly 5" outside of the seat rail.
We do not recommend using more than two WC-LAE components for offsets, as this severly increases the moment arm on the support.

Components used: Wheelchair T-Nut (WC-TN), Wheelchair Adapter Plate (WC-AP), two Wheelchair L-Angled Extension Plate (WCLAE), and a Solid Wheelchair Bracket WB2(solid)

These are only a few examples of how some people have successfully mounted to their wheelchairs.
