Koala-No Unitrack

Koala with flanged sheet metal seat pan.
Adapter Plate 2 attached to the flange--if the flange is not reinforced, this flexes significantly.
An Adapter Plate 2 is used to further offset the Wheelchair Bracket.
Custom plate, reinforced with an L-Extrusion attaching to the Seat pan and flange.

Offset options

Offsets attach to the wheelchair attachment hardware, and are used to:

  • Get around obstacles such as trays, brakes, footrests and armrests
  • Position the Wheelchair Bracket so the post is in the optimal position (post can be inserted and removed, brakes are unobstructed, footrests removed, accommodate the tray, etc)
  • Adjust the angle of the hardware and/or bracket to make sure the post is vertical

These plates can all be used to offset. To figure out which offset plate will work for you, see our Offset Guide.

How to mount:

The Koala's sheet metal seat pan has a bent flange. The seat base connection and the flexing in the sheet metal make for a less secure attachment than desired.

Customization: The preferred solution is to reinforce the seat pan and flange, bolting them to a square, rectangular or L-shaped extrusion or tube to reduce the play, and to attach a broader plate to the outside of the thighs to attach to. Finally, attach an Angle Adjustment Plate or other Offsets to secure the Wheelchair Bracket where needed.

Other hardware:

Reinforce the seat pan and flange, bolting them to a square, rectangular or L-shaped extrusion or tube to reduce the play.

Bolt another broader plate to the outside for attachment of an Adapter Plate or an Angle Adjustment Plate.
