Offset options

Offsets attach to the wheelchair attachment hardware, and are used to:

  • Get around obstacles such as trays, brakes, footrests and armrests
  • Position the Wheelchair Bracket so the post is in the optimal position (post can be inserted and removed, brakes are unobstructed, footrests removed, accommodate the tray, etc)
  • Adjust the angle of the hardware and/or bracket to make sure the post is vertical

These plates can all be used to offset. To figure out which offset plate will work for you, see our Offset Guide.

How to mount:

Use longer shoulder bolts ( included ) to attach the WC-AP8X adapter plate.   There are custom holes in the AP5 plate to accomodate the different hole spacing of the shoulder bolts.   Attach the necessary adapter plates to the AP8X to get out in front of the armrest.  If there is an existing tray on the chair, or if the shoulder bolt holes are towards the back of the chair, then a Post Extension Kit (PEK) will be needed to get the post out in front of the tray

Hole Spacing:   830 - 67mm,   850 - 57mm,   870 - 57mm,     You will need two longer shoulder bolts to replace existing shoulder bolts - diameter 7.8mm

*****  You will need a Torx 25  wrench to remove the Rifton Shoulder bolt and a 4 MM allen wrench for adding the longer shoulder bolt included with the hardware. *****
