(F5) Power Standing

This mount is attached to a Post Extension Kit, in order to move it further forward, in front of the armrest.
The ability to access something from either a standing or seated position in a standing wheelchair requires attachment to the armrest.
If you attach to the seat frame, when a person stands the mount will move the device down and out of reach.
Use lock nuts on the other side.
An L-Angle Extension is shown attached to the Adapter Plate 2 to offset/reposition the Wheelchair Bracket.
Non-Unitrack option. The armrest bracket has holes which can be used for attaching other hardware.
Approach 2: Attach an Adapter Plate 2 to the holes in the armrest bracket.
Approach 1: Attach hardware to the Unitrack under the armrest
Pass through Permobil Unitrack bolts through the NON-THREADED holes on the L-Angle Extension Bracket. Loosely thread on the nuts. Feed the nuts into both Unitracks under the armrest. There should be two nuts in one track and one nut in the other track

Offset options

Offsets attach to the wheelchair attachment hardware, and are used to:

  • Get around obstacles such as trays, brakes, footrests and armrests
  • Position the Wheelchair Bracket so the post is in the optimal position (post can be inserted and removed, brakes are unobstructed, footrests removed, accommodate the tray, etc)
  • Adjust the angle of the hardware and/or bracket to make sure the post is vertical

These plates can all be used to offset. To figure out which offset plate will work for you, see our Offset Guide.

How to mount:

The benefit of attaching to the armrest on a standing wheelchair is that a person's device remains in the same position relative to them and their access method, whether it is eye gaze or hand access. While we don't usually suggest attaching to armrests, standing wheelchair armrests are more stable.

Newer Permobils offer Unitrack beneath the armrest, making attachment easier. Attaching to old style armrests is possible, and shown as Approach 2.

Approach 1: Attach to Unitrack on the underside of the armrest. First, attach the LAE (L-Angle Adapter Plate) to the Unitrack. Next, attach the PEK (Post Extention Kit) to the threaded holes on the L-Angle Extention Plate.   In some cases a WC-AP2 or WC-AP4 can be attached to the LAE threaded holes (instead of the PEK) and then the WB2 can be attached to the WC-AP2 or WC-AP4.  The PEK gives the user much more flexibility as it can be extended further out.

How to mount:

The old style Permobil armrest bracket has two holes available to attach to.

Attach an Adapter Plate using these two holes. Orient the AP2 so the threaded holes are oriented to the front of the armrest. Depending on where the armrest is, and where the Solid Wheelchair (WB2) post and mounted device needs to be located, Offsets may be required. They can be used to lower the WB2, or move the post to the outside, inside or in front of  the armrest.
